Company style painting of river Goddess Ganga, on antique British ledger paper (about 70-80 years old), using vibrant colours derived from natural minerals. The painting frame in antique natural wood (about 50 years), is fitted securely with acrylic glass and a hardboard back. Company painting (Kampani Kalam) is a hybrid, 18th century art form, made by Indian artists for the British East India Company. Stains and small defects on the paper or the frame, are an inherent feature in antique finds.
