Moirang Phee cotton handloom saree

Hand woven Moirang Phee saree in mercerised cotton, with traditional floral, elephant and horse motifs, woven in the extra weft technique. The Ganga Jamuna borders in red and black are 3.5 inches, and with the woven motifs, the border width is 10 inches top and bottom. The border designs (top and bottom) continue for 1.75 meters from pallu. It takes 2 Meitei women weavers, several weeks to weave this saree. Photos are taken on the flat side of motifs, to display the elephants and horses, in the right orientation.
